2002 Ford Explorer XLS..jerking when I turn the wheel?
My explorer is jerking when I turn the wheel sharply...I had new tires on back and old on front....took it to ford...they said that may be the problem...because we have automatic 4x4 and it thinks the tires are slipping...so we got new ones...that didnt fix it...changed transfer case fluid...that didnt fix it...though it was very burnt fluid...any suggestions? we had the control module fixed last year and some other 4x4 stuff $1200 worth
the 4x4 feels like it its kicking on and off....ford confirmed this...but they could be wrong i guess hooked it up to the diag. test and nothing showed up
my 4x4 high lights keeps flashing also

rack and pinion steering, might have a calibration up date to correct it, best thing to do is to live with it, I think it may have been started by turning the steering wheel with the engine off

Try jumping it again. Wiggle all (4) the clamps until you see them scratch the terminal. Leave them for 10+ mins. May want to rev up the vehicle doing the charging (1500-2000rpm). Take it somewhere and have the battery checked. If it still just clicks, but doesn't turn, try hitting the side of the starter (bigger metal cylinder part) with a hammer while someone tries to start it.

You seem to be missing the most obvious. Have you checked the power steering system? Does it have fluid? Is the belt correctly adjusted? Does the PS pump make any noise? Squealing? Grinding?
