could this happen due to recall work done?

I own a hyundai Sante FE They were on a recall list and also front trailing arm 2002.my wife was driving it about five miles an hour and the control arms on rear broke because of rust! They were on a recall so the hyundai dealer fixed that.they also replaced the front trailing arm on front which was also on recall. Now the hyundai doesnt steer right. Before this happened it steered perfectly.the dealership says that i need to replace about six different pieces on the front steering and suspension At my cost.

Sometimes when you replace equipment like trailing arms, struts and other suspension parts the vehicle has to be aligned to get it back to specifications. And to align the vehicle properly there are a lot of other parts that must be in good condition to ensure that the alignment is correct. Now with that being said you are probably better off going to an alignment shop to get it done because the dealer will rape you for the parts and charge a lot more for the same work. Be prepared to hear that the alignment shop wants you to purchase new tires before they do the job. The tires have to be exactly the same for the equipment to get an accurate measurement and used tires always have slightly different wear on them. Most of the time you can get away with just getting a front end alignment to correct the steering issues but a 4 wheel alignment will extend the life of your tires and feel a lot more like new than just aligning the front end. Hopefully I have been helpful.
