    With a wrench. Seriously.

Get a replacement cable. Identify the wrench size by testing the connector size of the new cable.

Locate the ends of the old cable and disconnect then. Replace with new cable.

You'll also need to lubricate the cable so it slides easier through the grommet at the firewall. A few drops of oil is all you'll need.

First, you get a new sensor from "Hyundai Parts" in Phoenix (about $45) This does 2 things: Let's you recognize the part so you can locate it (a little difficult because its positioned upright in the right rear corner of the tranny pan) Second: You notice how the connector CLIPS in. BE CAREFUL not to break the clip! A small mirror will help you figure it out, take your time!

If this sounds overwhelming, take it somewhere.. should cost no more than $200. Hope this helps (I changed mine about a year ago)!
