Need to locate cam for fz250?
I have a 1985 Yamaha/Genesis fz250cc,in line 4, duel overhead cam,16 valve liquid cooled.I am looking for exhaust cam.please guys don't tell me to get online as I have been to I think every site trying to locate a cam or maybe cams for this motor.I would like to locate someone that has a bike that is blown up or willing to part out the bike as I am living in the Philippines and need the cam or cams only, maybe a cylinder block but don't really need that. Please if someone here can direct me to someone that has a bike of this kind I would be very thankful.
I have another ride but I am rebuilding the engine and the exhaust cam is alittle warn,and believe it or not the bores is still factory at 48mm and the valve guides are still like new.I am just trying to get the power back up to where it should be or closer with new rings.I just noticed that the cam is just warm a small amount checking it for wear. And besides its my toy!

Doesn't even look like the manufacturer carries that part any more. After 10 years they normally don't make the parts as they move onto different models. I've run into this before with an '84 Honda Magna. I had to let it go since the part I needed just wasn't available any more. You are down to finding a motorcycle salvage yard that just happens to have a serviceable motor that will fit your ride from 28 years ago. Not a high percentage chance of success. It might be time to find a different ride.
