Why does exercising make feel so awful?

I need to start exercising, because let's face it, I don't. I know everyone says how they energized they feel after, but I've never felt that my whole life. All I've ever felt from it is tired and miserable.

It doesn't boost my energy levels at all, not now, not later. In fact, it just makes it impossible to get through the day. After a workout, my eyes are tearing, and all I want to do is go back to bed.

    Exercise uses up energy it does not produce it. What everyone is talking about when they feel energised is that in the mornings, it can help give you a kick start to the day and can make you feel less bloated. This will work for you if you make sure that you have had a good nights sleep. If you haven't slept well it will simply drain your energy even further and make you feel tired and miserable.

    Looking at your case, a better alternative for you might be to exercise in the evening after dinner perhaps, this way you can burn off a lot of calories for dinner and it will tire you out, but this is good as it will help you sleep better.

  • I couldn't even exercise until I corrected a long list of health condition causing extreme fatigue and it's a long list but just to mention two of them - vitamin B12 malabsorption and insulin resistance. I haven't been eating enough protein recently and when I tried out a HIIT bike session I crashed right afterwards and slept for four hours.

    Exercise is hard work. It is best to condition yourself by walking (or some other exercise) one mile or so a number of times and then adding more distance if you feel good doing that much.
