How do you remove a knife from a stab wound?

I know that if you're stabbed you should go to the hospital and allow professionals to remove it, but would if you had no access to medical aid? What is the best way to remove the knife with minimal damage? Or should you just leave it in even if you have no way to contact 911?

you  leave it in and hope someone finds you, the blade may be slowing the bleeding by putting pressure on it.

Either you pull it out the same same it came in so that you don’t do additional damage. Or leave it in so you don’t bleed to death.

The reason you need to leave it in until a professional is present is because of the blood loss that happens once you remove.  Leave it in until you have a way to stop the bleeding that will ensue when you remove it.

While that's the main reason, the other is you don't know what organs it punctured that would also need to be stitched up once it's out.
