    Are autocracies *always* sinister? ?

    Favorite Answer:

If you were a Student of Human Nature you'd see why one person having Absolute Authority is a bad idea. Nepotism and Cronyism, the words that describe giving jobs or lucrative contracts to Family and Friends is as old as Civilization itself. And having power and thinking that you know all the answers to everything is a recipe for a Bigot: Don't confuse me with Facts, my mind is already made up. And probably the ugliest facets of Human Nature are Selfishness and Greed. Countless people have been cheated and/or killed because of that. I don't know who first said it but it's undeniably true: Power Corrupts and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. But there have been extremely rare cases where the person was so principled that power did not corrupt them. You could say those people are as rare as Hens' Teeth...to use a folky term.

mitsubishi outlander sport 2013 serpentine belt wont go on ?

The only problem is that no matter how loosely I set the tensioner the belt still seems too tight to go over all of the pulleys. I've checked and it's the same length as the one that was already on it- I'm actually installing a new belt- but for whatever reason it simply does not seem to have enough give in it to stretch over the final pulley. I've followed the how-to posted on this forum and still can't seem to get it to work. Let me know if there's some kind of trick for getting it on. Thanks!

How much should it costs to fix an antifreeze leak on a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS V6?

    Favorite Answer:

So you want a guess do you?

    Bad hose clamp under $70

    Bad head gaskets $1800

Does that make you feel any better?

Get the cooling system pressure tested and find the leak so you know where the leak is.

    How can I fix a P1320 on a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS V6? ?

How can I fix a P1320 on a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS V6? It has 128,000 miles, I went to turn on my car this morning and it displayed a Service Engine Soon Light. Went to Autozone they pulled a P1320 Code "ASE certified master technicians have seen this issue on your type of vehicle and the most likely solution is: Replace Engine Control Module (ECM)" How much should a mechanic charge to fix this? Do any ECMs come with a lifetime warranty? I had a Mitsubishi Dealer Replace the ECM two years ago.

Why are cars made by Mitsubishi so affordable?

    Favorite Answer:

Take a close look at one and you will soon see why.

For example, their Outlander has a rear seat folding mechanism which is so flimsy and nasty to use it feels like it was pulled out if a cheap Christmas Cracker. Many of the interior plastics below the eyeline are made of plastics which are hard and cheap-feeling. Their model range in general has paint-quality every bit as bad as Mazda (lots or orange-peel effect) and they are generally every bit as unreliable as Nissan has become. The cost-cutting nasty bite and the unreliability are even more likely to worsen now that Renault own them; that’s also what took a steaming crap on Nissan’s quality and reliability when Renault took a controlling stake.

Mitsubishi aren’t awful, they’re just nowhere near as good as the best Japanese brands, and they’re also not THAT much cheaper. The pitfalls also make ownership expensive because they depreciate in value quite heavily compared to better brands.

2007 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4 stalling issue.?

I have a 07 Mitsubishi Galant with the 2.4 4 cylinder. Just bought it and it was running great. A few days ago I had to run some errands and out of no where the car would stall. It would lose power and drop rpm when you touched the throttle until it finally would stall. As soon as it would stall you could start it up and it would run fine again. Yesterday same thing happened. Except i had to let it sit for about 20 minutes before it would run right again. I hooked up the scanner, no check engine codes. It will run great for 30-40 minutes and out of no where it starts acting up. I’m at a loss and don’t know what to do. I’m hoping maybe someone has had something similar happen to them and maybe put me in the right direction. It doesn’t over heat, runs at operating temp. Anyone know where to start?

Should I continue spending money to fix my 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS V6 Automatic 6 Speed 4WD?

    Favorite Answer:

If the rest of the car is good then you really just have two routine periodic consumable items (the belt and the exhaust) and two repairs one of which is likely to be very minor (the mirror switch: cheap and easy to replace if from a breakers yard). The window problem may or may not be an easy fix, but is nothing a competent DIY mechanic can’t fix fairly easily and still shouldn’t cost a fortune.

Leave the mirrors and the window alone for now and what’s left will admittedly be expensive, but they’re both likely to be a one-off expense which will cost less than a couple of monthly repayments on a new/newer car.

Your immediate priority right now is the timing belt. Gamble with that and the car could be worth scrap money only. You’d also waste a lot of money if you did the exhaust first and then suffer a broken timing belt.

The title says it's an RS.

    So it's an RS.

The original owner likely purchased an upgraded package.
