My wisdom tooth started coming through months ago, now the gum around it became inflamed a few days ago. I assumed it was infected and started to rinse my mouth with hot salty water as I had been advised previously.

However in the last 4-5 hours things have become so much worse. The gum is so swollen it has almost covered up the tooth. Because if the position of the swelling I am unable to open my mouth more than 1cm. The pain is excruciating and seems to be spreading over the roof of my mouth, along my teeth, under my eyes, and down my neck.

What should I do. Its almost midnight, does this warrent a trip to A and E or should I just hope it goes away. Im just concerned as I have a weak immune system and am worried the infection is spreading (if that is possible... ) Help?

How come some people have a banner saying 'top contibutor' and some people who also have answered loads of questions don't. Do they opt to have it or something?

Hi, I am an Occupational Therapist specializing in mental health and I am looking at applying for a new job in a newly opening private psychiatric hospital.

I have bipolar and in the past had an eating disorder and self harmed. I have however managed to work at my current job well and with minimal sick time for 3 years now and feel comfortable and happy with my meds and relaxing time.

Do you think it would be a help or a hindrance to mention my personal experience with mental health in the interview for this new job. Do you think they will see this as meaning I have better insight and empathy, or see me as a potential time bomb of illness?

Advice is gratefully received.

Is it true that pigeons explode if they land on the over head wires above a train line because of the high voltage? My friend insists its true but i thought electricity always took the easiest route e.g through the wire and not the pigeon. A sciency answer would be appreciated. Thanks x x

Hi, I have just logged onto the internet tonight and alot of the websites that I usually visit are not working, it says problem loading page, some sites that are not working are ebay, amazon, youtube... but then other sites are loading fine, such as facebook, deviantart and yahoo. Can anyone help me to understand why some are working and some arnt and how I can fix this.

My best friend killed himself 3 months ago, and I took it really badly. He was 26 at the time, such a waste... but anyway... since then whenever anyone talks about suicide in an off hand way, I go completely off the rails shouting and screaming at them that they dontknow what they're joking about and how its a serious matter.

I have no control over this, I am generally a very calm person who never raises their voice... I understand that I have to get over it and that people naturally joke about things but is it normal for me to loose all control like that?

Is there anything I can do to stop it, or to help me get over it?

Im 22 by the way.
