  • What to do about an ex that will not let go?

My ex was an insecure girl. My dad (psychiatrist) says that she tried to get extremely close to family and friends to make it harder for me to have any chance of breaking up with her.

We had absolutely nothing in common so, obviously, things didn't work out and I broke up with her three months ago.

My family and friends didn't like her but she still remains in contact with my mom, little brother, and two of my closest friends. They don't like it and I feel guilty for unknowingly introducing the situation. I know now how Pandora must have felt.

  • What is a good dedicated Physx card for me?

I am going to be upgrading my PC to run Nvidia stereoscopic 3D soon and was worried about framerates. I have a GTX 275 by BFG and an i7 920.

In Resident Evil 5 I get like 200 FPS but the game doesn't support Physx to my knowledge. In Batman Arkham Asylum, my framerates are at an average of 147 fps without Physx but only 50 with high Physx (ran at very high settings, no AA, 1080p). This is fine in 2D but I figure a dedicated Physx card would vastly improve my performance while still being on the cheap side. After all, upgrading to 3D is expensive.

My question is what would be a good card to achieve this? My budget is around $130 but obviously the cheaper the better, while maintaining high performance.

  • Is it less sinful to be an atheist or a Christian without faith?

If you are an atheist you admit you do not believe in God, if you are a Christian without faith you are lying to both yourself and God. Which is worse?

  • Looking for a good headset to use with the Astro A40 Mixamp?

Two years ago I bought the Astro A40 Audio System including the mixamp and the headset, meaning the warranty has expired, which is unfortunate because the headset fabric is tearing. This is the second time it has broken so I am looking to replace it with a headset that has higher quality sound, especially bass. I am a musician, gamer, etc so superior quality is very important to me. I love the mixamp since it lets me mix guitar and iPod sources for practice. With a budget of around $150 what is the absolute best I could get?

Also, I have an EVGA x58 3x SLI mobo and am considering getting a sound card, is there a good enough value to justify the price of upgrading from the onboard 7.1?

  • Which case should I get?

The two I am looking at most closely are the NZXT Tempest and NZXT Panzerbox. I like the lower weight of the Panzerbox but need more information on the cooling. Cooling is the most important thing to me. Can the 120 mm and 2 190mm fans on the Panzerbox match the Tempest's 4 120s and 2 140s? I am open to other suggestions too.

  • Which graphics card should I get?

I am building a gaming PC and graphics are important to me, I want to be able to play max settings for years to come but don't want to spend over $330.

I have narrowed it down to

    EVGA GTX 275 1792mb

Gigabyte GTX 275 Super Overclock 1792mb (impossible to find btw, if any of you know where they are please tell)

EVGA GTX 275 CO-OP PhsyX edition

I like the EVGA warranties but the specs on the Gigabyte card look great. The CO-OP card has less memory (1280mb) but I am wondering if the splitting of graphics and physics between the 275 and 250 will make up for that. I plan to upgrade to a 3D PC next year too so overkill may not be a bad thing. Case is extremely well cooled so OC'ing isn't a big deal.

  • Need a blessing on this computer build?

I am making a high-end budget PC for gaming and want it to last me a long while. This is my first build and I am pretty happy with it. If there are any incompatibility issues, please tell me bluntly, I can swallow my pride. If you know of any place to get components cheaper, please tell me.

    CPU- Intel i7 920 Bloomfield $288.99

    Motherboard- EVGA P55 SLI $139.99

Memory- Mushkin Enhanced Blackline (2X2gb) DDR3 7-7-7-20 $136.99 (will likely get another 4gbs next year)

Graphics Card- EVGA GTX 275 Co-op PhysX Edition $329.99

Hard Drive- Hitachi 1 TB HDD $79.99

    Power Supply- Xion 1KW $95

DVD drive- LG 24x SATA Super-Multi DVD Burner $23.99

    Case- NZXT Tempest- $89.99

    Total: $1184.93

I am concerned the graphics card will not fit in a mid size case, I hear the Tempest is big but I hear the same about the card.

  • How should I fix my old Dimension 4300?

I went down into my basement and saw my old Dell Dimension 4300 gathering dust on a shelf. I figured that it could be pretty fun to fix it up but cannot find the problem. My computer will not boot instead it displays the message "Primary hard disk drive 1 not found."

I checked all of the cables and actually dusted all components in the computer. I do not have a boot disk. When I try to run the PC in safe mode a blue screen flashes for a small instant. The diagnostic lights display only D as yellow indicating a problem of "other."

I would like to avoid calling Dell because last time I did they said unplug your hard drive and my graphics card caught on fire.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
