Rolled my ankle and heard a loud pop, felt really nauseous afterwards. Should I go to the hospital?

I was in a hurry, so I stood up while my leg was asleep and ended up rolling my ankle really badly. There was a loud pop or crack when it happened, and it hurt immediately. Still does. It didn't immediately swell up or bruise, but I got super nauseous afterwards and thought I was going to be sick, and it took me a minute to feel like I could move from the spot on the ground, beyond just because of the pain because of how sick and dizzy I felt suddenly.

Should I go to the hospital? What should I do?

(GORY OPEN WOUND) WARNING DO NOT OPEN IF SCREAMISH!) Huge cut on my arm, will it heal? ?

    Favorite Answer:

It’s too old to suture like that. Sometimes they can be re cut and sutured. Yes, it will heal, it’s called secondary intention, and it will take time.

I cut my middle finger flexor tendon a week ago, and I am still not able to see a doctor yet. Because I am still waiting for my PCP to request a referral to my insurance company. (I have HMO plan)

Ears still ringing 4 days after loud exposure?

I was exposed to a loud sound for a few minutes (chainsaw cutting metal) on Tuesday and my ears are still ringing a bit. I never ran a chain saw before so like an idiot I didn’t use ear protection. Did I cause permanent damage or is it most likely temporary? Thank you!

Does it sound like I have rabies?

So I had a cut on my index finger and I was picking up some trash in my back yard, some of which was a Styrofoam container that had been chewed by some animal.  It was still slimy from saliva.  The cut healed but today I have noticed some tingling on my pinky finger.  I know that tingling in or around a bite wound is a hallmark sign of rabies.  Does this mean I have rabies?  It's not on the same finger as the cut, but the same hand.

Can acupuncture fix a protrusion disc in low back? Why or why not?

I am 30 years old. I have had a protrusion disc for 16 months. I have been to 5 different doctors. Everything they tell me to do either makes it worse or does nothing. I tried physical therapy, and epidural steroid injection. Both of those made it worse. I tried seeing a chiropractor every week for 8 months. At first back adjustments were helping but then it stopped working. My Physiatrist is now telling me i should try acupuncture. Will this heal my protrusion disc? If not then what should i do instead. My protusion disc is considered too small to get surgery. I have been told by multiple doctors that it should be able to heal without surgery and that i shouldn't get surgery. Its been 16 months and it has not gotten better.

Stepped on rusty thumb tack ?

So I was just walking in my room, and felt a pinch on the bottom of my foot. Looked around, it was a thumbtack which is rusty at the bottom. Should I go to the doctor? It’s not a big wound, it’s a little cut. I got my upgraded shots when I was 16, I’m now almost 20. I cleaned it with soap and water and covered it with a bandaid. Any advice?

    Black eye, help? ?

I hit my eyebrow while trying to reach underneath my desk this morning so I iced it but it's still really swollen. At first I thought massaging the bump would even it out but yeah- not doing that again. I'm still icing it but I can barely open my eye with my fingers now with the swelling. Is there any other alternative way to heal my eye faster and how long might my eye be closed for?

I was also wondering if it was safe to put makeup on the swelling or would that further agitate it? I don't really know any other ways to hide it..

Left sided chest pain for 12 months? ?

    Favorite Answer:

It sounds as if you're doing everything right in terms of getting all the tests you need to ensure it's not your heart. I have heard that some covid patients that had a mild case sometimes get that and doctors don't really know why but covid wasn't really around in late 2019 (well it was not known to be around). The only other thing that might make sense is if you are having some anxiety or are generally an anxious person. From about ages 32-62 you are at the height of "the age of responsibility." Maybe you're caring for kids or elderly parents or even just paying the rent/mortgage. These are the years that you will have the most weight on your shoulders. If there is any possibility of a different job that doesn't involve heavy lifting, that could be an option to see if things improve. But your anxiety that it will never go away could actually also be perpetuating it. I do this thing when I have pain somewhere in which I close my eyes and imagine telling my brain to send oxygen to the area. Then I try to think about if this could be triggered by something emotional. And then with my eyes closed I ask myself is this anger? is this resentment? is this guilt? Is this fear? Is this bitterness? And sometimes when I say the emotion in my head, if the pain either increases or decreases, I know I've hit on something. For me, guilt is the big one so then I will think about all the things I could possibly feel guilty about. And then maybe go through the list of people that are closest to me (including the boss, parents, children, spouse/partner). And again if in saying their names, the pain increases or decreases, you can tell who may be involved in repressed emotions. Those emotions if left unexpressed, can cause physical pain and disease. We don't even realize we're repressing them because we're taught to be good humans and not to complain and to tough things out. The good news is that this works really well on muscular/circulation issues because your body tries to trick you into thinking about your body instead of an unpleasant emotion. Most people if given the choice, would choose to feel the emotion instead of the pain that just brings on more fear. Once I started recognizing that I was not expressing my anger or guilt, I walked around for 2 years in my 30s just angry about everything until I learned to manage it in a healthier way. Our thoughts are things and they will manifest in our bodies as pain. Think about when someone blushes - that's the manifestation of blood circulating to the face because of an emotion - embarrassment. Anyway, try not to let the fear get to you. If a doctor tells you they can't find anything and you have no other symptoms or family history, then you have to think about other reasons. And you have to make the effort to eat healthful foods and ways to ease the stress.

Does a doctor need to see this sore on the big toe?

I don’t know if this needs medical attention. Or if Polysporin, bandaids and time will heal it.  I am not sure exactly what is going on with the big red bump. Any advice??

Might I have a torn ligament?

On December 25th last year (2020) I got out of my car and walked on the grass there was a hidden dip and my ankle gave way and I fell completely over. My ankle made a snapping noise and instantly started to swell. Could still weight bear. Within two days back to normal walking on it with no pain. Nearly 7 weeks later now I am still walking on it with no pain other than the odd occasion but when I rotate my ankle such as moving it side to side it feels tight and hurts and this has not improved since I fell. There is still swelling on my ankle too.

I am trying to work out if it will heal with rest and time or if I should see about having it looked at. If anyone could advise that would be great.

I have attached pictures of my ankle the day I fell and my ankle 7 weeks later.
