  • What s Sony s equivalent to Canon s Center Weighted Average Metering mode?

I know Canon has four metering modes but Sony only has three and I ve been trying to figure out what the equivalent of CWV metering mode for Sony is because it doesn t seem to be multi or spot. So question is, which metering mode is it closer to or is it some hidden option? TIA!

  • Full frame Sony lenses?

I've got a question for my Sony camera experts. I'm new to the Sony camera...market I guess if I can put it that way, I was wondering what are some full frame lenses options I have. I come from shooting Canon and have a 24-70f4 and a Sigma 35 1.4 Art I use most of the time. I have the 55-210 for the a6000 but was told my A7ii goes into crop sensor mode when I shoot with the 55-210 as it's a crop sensor mount. I would like to get a sharp Sony native FF lens (comparable to the 35mm sigma art) and I would like something along the lines of my Canon 24-70 f4 or in the 50mm range. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  • Does best buy match any online price?

I've gone to best buy and matched their own online pricing and saved $30 before but do they match any online pricing? I found an item that I'm interested in that best buy also sells but it's from Amazon ($10 cheaper than in stores). Thanks!

  • what is a torque converter and does it get damaged when you manually rev match down shift?

i've been manually rev match downshifting for about 18, 000 miles on my car (pretty much after my car hit 1000 miles and I drive a 2012 Lexus IS250 RWD) but I've been told that I'm not supposed to rev match even though this car doesn't come with a dual clutch transmission. Am I damaging it by rev matching in the process? Thanks!

  • removing secondary cats and putting mufflers back on?

I'm currently running an invidia mid pipe and dual muffler deletes from a megan racing axle back exhaust system. The loudness of the exhaust is to my liking but the exhaust tone is too high pitched (I liked it better when I still had my mufflers). My question now is, if I put back my mufflers and instead, removed my secondary cats, would the exhaust volume still be just as loud as when I had pipes instead of dual mufflers or would removing the cats not change the loudness of the exhaust at all? Thanks!

  • wireless microphone setup for canon t3i?

Sound used to not matter to me because I did mostly short films but now that I'm in a filming class, we're closing up on doing the final film project and I'm incorporating dialogue in my film. I've looked around and I don't plan on spending that much on super expensive microphones and a wireless receiver. The option that I'd want most if it will work for my situations is a lavalier microphone connected to a wireless receiver that's mounted to my camera. I am also planning on starting vlogs on YouTube but for this final film project in my class, I'm going to be filming people outdoors with probably some slight wind. I've only heard of and looked into the Zoom H1 and have looked into the sennheiser microphone but the entire setup would be around 1k and to me, for now, that's too much. I have looked into some Sony microphones (ECM-CS10) and Audio Tecnica but my film teacher said that I most likely will get some wind noise from the microphone no matter how good the recording device is. I'll need some input soon as this project is due in about two weeks. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • option for not displaying front license plate, CA?

I heard from a friend that there's an option for not displaying the front license plate in CA if you pay a fee at the DMV. I personally haven't heard of such things and I've seen a lot of people not even have something in the place of their front license plate (I have something in the spot of my license plate so at least there's something there). The thing is, my friend got pulled over once and was given a warning for not having a front license plate but you can tell his car is modded (mine is too, just his is more obvious). What's the actual answer here? Thanks!

  • GoPro HD Hero 3+, Sony Action Cam?

This may sound like a dumb question but one of my HD Hero 1s just stopped letting me charge the battery, it may be a hardware issue and I don't think I'm going to have any luck with fixing it so I may just be moving on from it. I am considering getting the Gopro HD Hero 3+ but I don't believe that the $300 justifies the video quality of what the Sony Action Cam can do but I may be wrong, I'm no pro videographer. My question is, which camera is worth the money that I'm paying for? I've never used the GoPro Hero 3+ before and I am very satisfied with the Sony Action Cam but I like to use two different branded cameras just so that I have the best of both worlds. The GoPro Hero 3+ is also an entire $100 more expensive which is why I am most likely not considering getting the black edition as it's a full $200 more expensive than the silver edition. Can the GoPro Hero 3+ Silver edition compete with the Sony Action Cam or is that why the GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition released as well? Is it worth the $400 and twice the price of the Sony Action Cam? Any tips and advice would be great. Thanks!

  • which canon lens is best for sharp manual focus and if I'm on a budget?

I've been told that the 50mm f1.4 lens is the best for sharp manual focus but it's $330 which is a little expensive for me. What kind of lens can I get that will be almost as good as the 50mm 1.4 but cheaper and won't make me think that I wasted my money? Thanks.

  • Canon or Nikon for filming?

So I am going to be majoring in Film and have been playing around with my mom's Sony NEX 5N for several of my YouTube videos for some time now and I realized that money doesn't always equal quality. I say that because my mom's camera really just doesn't live up to the standards that I was hoping for. The NEX 5N was more for taking amazing pictures, not shooting video, at least not the type of lens that I have. So now my question is, which is better for filming? Canon or Nikon? I'm specifically looking for one that can easily allow me to shoot with manual focusing and allow me to adjust the F-stop and the ISO. The knob on the NEX 5N lens that I have made it very difficult for me to use manual focus in my videos since it was so hard to turn and I know that it was either Canon or Nikon that allows for easier use. Lastly, I don't know anything about Canon or Nikon cameras so please also recommend me a few of the different models. Thanks.

  • What's the difference between a differential and carrier assembly?

I've been searching for a Limited Slip Differential for my '12 IS 250 and haven't been getting any luck. I have however, been lucky enough that someone told me to do some online searching and I happened to come across the term "carrier assembly". Is that the same thing as a differential? I looked it up on google images and it does show up as the limited slip as well as the gearing. Also, when I looked up the part, some said "lock" and some said "no lock". What do both of these mean? Does lock mean limited slip? Thanks!

  • IS 300 LSD in an IS 250?

I know this is possible but what's the process and what's required? I always thought it was JUST the LSD itself but apparently there's also a carrier involved? When I bought a LSD for my previous car, the mustang, I only needed to purchase the LSD, nothing else. I learned yesterday that an open diff won't work for me but I don't want to spend that much on one (I know aftermarket ones can run up to $1500, sometimes even over $2K for Japanese/European cars). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Would this be considered as joyriding?

I went around some dealerships asking if I could test drive some cars (they were used, I wouldn't have done it if it was brand new) because I wanted to expand my knowledge about cars in general and I felt that the only way to achieve that was by taking them for a test drive and the dealerships actually allowed me to, thankfully. Ive been told, though, that this is considered joyriding. Is that true? Because I have no other way of learning more about cars other than to actually get a chance to drive them. Btw please don't hate on me, I just want to know the truth.

  • clutch comparison between mini cooper S and '13 mustang GT?

So I've test driven the 2013 mustang GT and have owned a '00 v6 mustang before, both clutches are actually ok for me but I know it's all due to muscle memory because to other people like subaruwrxfan, he said that the clutch actually gives a bit of a workout. I've also driven a 1997 volkswagen golf before and the clutch was light. How about the 2013 mini cooper s? The reason why I am asking is because I'm about to go test drive one in a few weeks but the one thing I always wonder is how heavy the clutch is. I know that it's a V6 engine with a supercharger so the clutch shouldn't be heavy at all compared to the V8 in a GT so I'm guessing it's going to be similar, if not lighter, than the clutch in my old mustang with the V6 engine. Can anyone give me any input on that? Thanks.

  • Differences between Megan Racing and Invidia midpipe?

I want to know what the difference is between the Megan Racing midpipe and the Invidia midpipe. My car currently has the Megan racing axle back so it has a low tone to it and I've heard that the invidia midpipe gives off a higher tone. Is that true? If I were to get a midpipe, I'd choose either one of these but I need some feedback on both of these to decide which one I would go for. Any advice would be gravely appreciated. Thanks.

  • is surgery necessary? I'm a little scared...?

So after weeks of searching around on Google, I felt the need that I had to tell my mom about my 'private' situation. I told her I had an extreme curvature (literally almost 90º, don't ask how please) and that my foreskin wasn't pulling back and I'm almost 20. She told me the foreskin not pulling back is normal but the extreme curvature was not and that I should have told her earlier. Problem was, I thought it was normal until recently. So now I'm gonna go see a family doctor first and either of us will ask him to recommend a urologist. What I want to know right now is, will I need to go through surgery as I know that this amount of curvature is not normal at all or will those adjustment tools be enough? I'm honestly really scared that I'll need surgery but I'm hoping for the best.

  • gopro hero 1 weird clicking sound?

I need advice asap. I was recording today and for some reason, with both the waterproof and non waterproof backing, I have this weird clicking background sound in my videos. I had my camera mounted right beside my license plate with the suction cup mount. I don't know what could possibly be making that sound. Please help. Thanks.

  • is my car considered a ricer?

So I've been wondering this ever since I switched to a new exhaust setup. I'm running a megan racing axle back with a custom pipe replacing the resonator. I did this because the factory exhaust was too quiet and I like my car to have a louder sound to it. I also like american muscle exhaust sounds but I know that I can't replicate the american muscle exhaust sound on a JDM car and Megan Racing was the closest I could get. It's got the lowest tone out of every single exhaust out there I could find. Next, I have 8K DRLs and 6K low beams with 3K fog lights. Is this considered rice? I wouldn't consider it rice because I know I didn't go overboard with the modifications (what I listed above are all that I have, no aftermarket colored rims, it's not lowered, nothing) but some drivers who actually know cars might still consider my car as a riced out car. Please give me some feedback. Thanks.

  • Astro A30 or Turtle Beach PX21?

I don't know much about gaming headsets and that's why I'm asking. I currently own a turtle beach PX21 headset (i've owned it for about a year to a year and a half at max) and after about 3-4 hours of gameplay, my ears start to hurt because there's not enough padding. I know that a lot of the pros use Astro Gaming headset like Optic Gaming but how about non competitive players like me? I know that the Turtle Beach headset is a little bit cheaper than the Astros but I'm willing to pay just a little bit more if I can get more benefits from the Astros. Also, what are the pros and cons of the Astros? Thanks.
